| InternetPerils' New Net Can Catch Phishers
InternetPerils exposes a cluster of phishing servers that operated for months undetected. InternetPerils' products identify phishing clusters so targets of phishing, including banks and consumers, can act by contacting the ISP hosting the cluster, or by contacting law enforcement agencies. Austin, TX (PRWEB) October 19, 2006 -- InternetPerils, Inc., a leading provider of automated products for Internet Business Risk Management, today announced it has exposed a cluster of phishing servers operating from an ISP based in Germany. InternetPerils' analysis shows such clusters can infest unsuspecting ISPs for weeks or months. Souped-Up Contact Lenses Promise On-Demand Bionic Eyesight
Potential uses include virtual displays for pilots, video-game projections and telescopic vision for soldiers. A working prototype of a lens-embedded antenna that draws power for the device from radio frequencies has also been created. The next steps are to build a version that can display several pixels—and then to test it on a person. The UW team uses a technique called self-assembly to manufacture the eyewear. Researchers dust a specially designed contact lens with microscale components that automatically bond to predetermined receptor sites. The shape of each component dictates where it attaches. “There's a lot of room to expand," Babak Parviz, an assistant professor of electrical engineering at UW, says of the technology. “You can let your imagination run wild." .
The Once Juggernaut: Rising Quickly
Instead of the 75-seat clubs and bars The Swell Season played last year, they'll be headlining venues like Radio City Music Hall and the Coachella Music Festival. There was one other blessing the film wrought Hansard and Irglova fell in love while promoting Once last spring. "They're a great story," says Steve Feldstein, a spokesman for Fox Home Entertainment, which released Once on DVD in December and expects to see a spike in sales at retailers mimicking the movie's ascent on Amazon. "There's nothing quite like the Oscars as a promotional vehicle. Their performance was wonderful. Their speeches were honest and fresh." Fox Searchlight launched the film in limited theatrical release in May with a 16-city bus tour. Screening the movie for local press and closing with live Swell Season performances, the tour built on the goodwill the film had established with critics at the Sundance Film Festival in January.
Ten things you should about GPS units
They provide the user with basic guidelines on whether to go left, right, or straight ahead during their journey and some even offer verbal alerts such as when you are travelling over the speed limit or are approaching a red-light camera. If you are growing tired of the very polite voice inhabiting your GPS, novelty and celebrity voice skins are available to users of TomTom units - on sale either from the manufacturer itself or from the nascent third-party market which peddles a wide array of celebrity impressions from the likes of Elvis, the Queen and Marilyn Monroe. For those looking for more functional voice upgrades, forking out a little extra cash will fund the more sophisticated text-to-speech capabilities currently inhabiting products at the top end of the market which will read out street names.
Apple Wants To Make DRM Extortion Explicit
This is stupid no matter how you slice it. (reply to this comment) (link to this comment) Re: Playing Devil's Advocate by Alan on Dec 5th, 2007 @ 7:18am I think this is the pertinent point - Apple must provide a legal way for customers to load content onto its devices. One way is by buying the movie via ITMS. The ITMS selection is tiny though, so they are looking for other sales channels. The problem here is the law that makes it illegal to transfer DVDs to other media, not the fact that Apple is trying to sell movies for its devices. (reply to this comment) (link to this comment) Here Here... by Rip Away on Dec 5th, 2007 @ 7:20am I agree with #3, isn't jaywalking illegal also, MacTheRipper is the most comprehensive ripping utility on the planet for non-HD, isn't it ironic it's on the Mac platform.

Bagan mark too good to miss
One of his principal rivals for the Arkle, the ante post favourite Noland, is the main attraction at Sandown Park today. He runs in the Durkan Group Novice Chase. After a smooth and very convincing win first time out over fences at Folkestone in January, he has scared off a lot of his potential opposition and faces just four rivals. Trainer Paul Nicholls, who makes no bones about Noland being one of his best chances at the Festival, picked Sandown ahead of Kempton tomorrow because he is keen to give him experience of jumping fences on an undulating track. www.telegraph.co.uk/armytage Have your say .
Score it as a dubious block
We all work hard and then, with one trade, the balance goes boom."), but he, like everyone else, is waiting to see what happens with the glacial O'Neal and the high-octane Suns. "They're not going to change the system and all of a sudden be rock 'em, sock 'em basketball," Popovich said. "They're going to figure out a way to slide Shaq in there just like they slid Kurt Thomas in there. It makes it tough for us in the sense that they have someone who can guard Timmy better." Eastern play still pretty beastly Remember all the preseason talk about how the Eastern Conference had narrowed the talent gap with the West? Oh well. At the All-Star break, the 23-30 New Jersey Nets would be the seventh seed in the East while the 32-20 Denver Nuggets would not make the playoffs in the West.
Khairy, Chandra’s legal woes get more coverage in cyberspace
Stories covering both Parti Keadilan Rakyat de-facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as well as the retraction of indelible ink use by the Elections Commission dominated both mainstream and online coverage for 6 March. That is where the similarities ended. The knowledge reached and perceptions formed by readers in regards to these topics will have relied greatly on whether they took information from the dailies or from alternative, online news sources. Malaysiakini posted RM110mil law suite against Khairy, Chandra in the early evening of 5 Marchan article detailing the legal action, in the form of a defamation suit, potentially being filed by Anwar Ibrahim against Umno Youth deputy chief Khairy Jamaluddin and former PKR deputy president Chandra Muzaffar over alleged derogatory and nonfactual comments made against him at a 20 Feb ceramah and published in a 4 Mar New Straits Times article.
