| Candidates reveal differences at forum
The town candidates were asked to give two-minute response to such questions as: How would you address violence in Taos? How would you make Taos a sustainable community? Did you agree with term limits? How would you improve tourism? How would you increase lodger’s tax revenue? What would you do to stop the bickering on the town council?Incumbent Councilors Erlinda Gonzales and Melitón Struck opposed term limits, but the remaining candidates all suggested councilors be limited to two four-year terms.Candidate Amy Quintana, however, pointed out that a change in state law might be required to allow term limits for councilors.Eugene Sánchez vowed that he would work with legislators to change the law.But the candidates for two open seats in the March 4 election revealed more differences in their direct response to comments from their challengers.Gonzales and Struck expressed their objection to the proposed SmartCode, which would provide a Master Plan to guide the town’s land use regulations.Struck said the proposed SmartCode would not protect the historic district in Taos and Gonzales said she opposed the recommendation in the preliminary plan allowing three-story buildings in the downtown area. The other candidates saw the SmartCode as a way to resolve conflicts in the town’s land use ordinances and Amy Quintana pointed to the failure of the town manager to fill the planning director position for more than a year as an obstruction to the town’s ability to plan for the future, especially in regard to approving the SmartCode.Julia Valerma said the SmartCode encompasses most the Vision 20/20 plan touted by Struck and Gonzales over the SmartCode, but said it would define the current and immediate needs of the community. The Vision 20/20 Plan, which was created by extensive grassroots input in 1999, was never formally adopted by the town council.

AIT Domains VR Program Generates Unrivaled Profits
In the years since AITDomains.com introduced its Virtual Domain Registrar program, it has become a cash cow for hundreds of Internet entrepreneurs and resellers. Fayetteville, NC, March 05,2008--In the years since AITDomains.com introduced its Virtual Domain Registrar program (http://aitdomains.com/vrprogram/?pdkw=pr-domainsvr-prp-03042008), it has become a cash cow for hundreds of Internet entrepreneurs and resellers. Many have used it to register, renew, or transfer hundreds of domains, and some enterprising customers have more than 5,000 domains under their accounts. The user creates the pricing structure, controls the registration process, and owns the customer in every substantive way, says Jamie Moore, Product Manager for the program. The program is white-labeled, so AITDomains.com is invisible to the end user, though there is a support system for virtual registrars.

The buck stops with me when we won the championship, it stops with me when I have the worst team in the league," he said. After big wins by Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama seeks to regain ...
CASPER, Wyo. - Sen. Barack Obama sought to regain lost momentum in Wyoming's caucuses days after rival Hillary Rodham Clinton's nearly clean sweep of major primaries in their tight Democratic presidential race. Twelve national convention delegates are at stake Saturday in caucuses around the state, a small but critical prize in the close race for the party's nod. The epic battle between Clinton and Obama has given the state's Democrats — outnumbered more than 2-to-1 by Republicans — a relevancy they haven't experienced in a presidential race in nearly 50 years. Clinton won victories Tuesday in primaries in Texas, Ohio and Rhode Island, reviving her candidacy. But Obama has prevailed in 12 of the 15 caucuses, which rely on greater campaign organization and voter commitment than primaries.

Resigned editorial page editor Andres Martinez says the paper's newly-arrived editor and publisher caved to a disgruntled newsroom that is annoyed at [the paper's owners in] Chicago, annoyed at them and annoyed at the autonomy of the opinion pages. The newsroom unrest, Martinez says, is partly "ideological" (the news pages presumably being more conventionally liberal than his editorial page), partly "a matter of bureaucratic culture," and some of it a personnel matter (there are some embittered former editorial board members that Kinsley and Carroll sent off to the newsroom).

TheStar.com | Sports | Grey Cup arrives at city hall
On hand to greet the Cup were a dozen fans, four times as many media and city hall's feral squirrels, which practically crawl up your leg in search of food. Amidst the fear, one was reminded of the words of Steve Coogan, "If it's between me and a crack squirrel, I will take that squirrel down. I will take that squirrel down to Chinatown." After being marched into council chambers by an honour guard, Mayor David Miller took over. The city's first citizen relived his fondest CFL moments and almost managed to make them seem unscripted. CFL commissioner Mark Cohon the praised the city's love for "Canada's national game." In his defence, he was born in Chicago. But in his offence, I was born in Toronto and I don't think America's national pastime is hockey. After that, Miller officially proclaimed this Grey Cup Week, which excited those fans to fits of shouting 'Go (Insert Winnipeg Blue Bombers or Saskatchewan Roughriders here)!' But when Miller finished his remarks with 'Go Riders,' the mood soured slightly.
