Allton Starts Web Design Firm in Lake Saint Louis, MO

Michael Allton can still remember his first website.

"It was 1997, and my mother had just formed a new non-profit organization in Norwalk, Ohio called Project Leadership. It was designed to promote leadership and community values and she wanted a website to help recruit members. I used FrontPage 97 and it was very basic, but it sparked my love for website design."

Since then, Michael has come a long way. For several years, he designed websites for businesses and organizations in Ohio while with an IT Firm. Then, last year, after moving to Lake Saint Louis, he started his own design firm, Stadia Studio.

"I wanted very much to get back into designing websites for small businesses," said Michael. "I've always enjoyed helping businesses grow, and having a great website is an integral part of that."

Stadia Studio specializes in providing small businesses with complete web services including website design, hosting, search engine optimization and consulting.

Malware writers exploring Software as a Service model

The business of writing, buying, and selling malware has become increasingly commercial over the past few years, but a new report from online security firm Finjan sheds light on just how mainstream the crimeware business has gone. Earlier this month, the company discovered a small, standalone application gathering data on over 8,700 servers, including web sites from 2,500 North American companies and a handful of sites in Alexa's top 100 ranking. Potential buyers were able to log into the malicious server hosting the data-gathering service and evaluate any given web site's size and Google Page Rank to decide whether or not the site's FTP information was worth purchasing or not.

The concept of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) is nothing new, but this is the first time anyone has organized the purchase of FTP login credentials, with additional tools available to help a buyer confirm he's making a smart purchase.

How to Build A Near Fail-Safe Accounting System to Reduce Costs and ...

The Holy Grail of accounting systems is one that "just works," every time and without fail, with great efficiency and small hardware requirements. The system must have significant reliability, and procedures and processes should cross validate on a constant, ongoing basis. This is our quest and can be our accomplishment.

Constructing a near fail-safe accounting system is like putting together a jigsaw puzzle; all pieces must be present and carefully placed in order to create the big picture. With accounting systems, one has to take all of the following pieces into consideration: software capabilities, hardware capabilities, training and internal procedures, support and strategic planning; AND these components must all fit and work together to create an efficient, reliable program that will take your firm's productivity to the next level.

e-Commerce Shopping Cart Software Integrates Help Desk Support System

ViArt.com, an online company supplying e-commerce shopping cart software to more than 200 customers worldwide, provides users with an integrated help desk support system.

Stokesley, UK (PRWEB) October 24, 2006 -- ViArt (http://www.viart.com) has developed their e-commerce shopping cart software to provide users with a form of customer support. The help desk support system comes in the design of an email support system, which enables customers to fill in an online form with a question or query. The emails are then stored within the help desk for a member of the administration team to assess.

The e-commerce shopping cart's integrated help desk support system accommodates many features to make the customer support service as regulated as possible.

"The emails that come through to the help desk support system can be set up into several categories and assigned an individual manager, as default these are: answered, awaiting response, investigating, proposed solution, closed, new and request more information.

NORM: LV notables also get test notices

A number of high-profile locals, who had medical procedures done at the Endoscopy Center of Southern Nevada, have also been contacted, according to sources in the medical community.

"Entertainers were among those notified," said a source. "It (the center) was the largest endoscopy group in town."

About 40,000 patients have been advised to get blood tests due to possible exposure to hepatitis B, hepatitis C and HIV, the virus that causes AIDS, because of the center's medical practices from March 2004 to Jan. 11.

The center was closed by the city on Friday under an emergency suspension order.

Band energizes crowd

Incommunicado recently played a Cherry Darling show in February with bands Jena Berlin and The Warmingtons.

"We really like playing in State College, and college towns in general," Warmbrodt said. "If we could, we would play college towns more often, but we just don't have the connections."

Playing with Incommunicado will be Lose The Name, a punk-rock quartet from Tyrone, Pa.

"This is our first time playing with Incommunicado, and we are super happy about it," bass player Brad Davis said.

This weekend's performance coincides with the release of Lose The Name's five-track EP, Fells Point, released through Take Over Digital.

Lose The Name worked with producer Paul Leavitt who has worked with other acts like Senses Fail.

Manley recommends extending Afghan mission

You and I both know the manley panel on Canada's mission in Afghanistan (combat versus a purely humanitarian only) is akin to asking a panel made up of don cherry, bobby clarke, bob probert to advise Canadians on fighting in hockey.

It would be imposible to find a more hawkish individual who labels themselves Liberal. It is his reson d'etre.

Kabul is the original UN and Nato mission (in the North) where Canada spent 4 years building schools, hospitals, homes, water supplies, democracy building, and development aid. That mission is still continuing with the help of 30 countries under the UN mandate, and is reaping considerable success.

Canadian troops were respected, appreciated and not once attacked by the population as an invasion force in Kabul, since they were a force for good.

MedBedsNow launches

A new medical company whose Web site is designed to aid health care discharge planners is launching in Austin.

MedBedsNow LLC Texas' site targets hospitals, assisted living facilities and nursing homes and allows them post their available beds and level of care. Ann Passino, regional manager for MedBedsNow, says discharge planners who place patients in appropriate care facility once they leave a hospital, as well as family members, will likely be the site's most frequent users.

The site is free to search and users pay a fee to subscribe.

Passino says launching in Austin made sense because of its technology industry and growing medical industry.

"Nursing homes are currently losing on average $125 per day per empty bed," she says.

Romanov bank plan revealed

Not only do they get about £2m per year in interest from the debt, which has about doubled their usual profit, but they get free advertising on strips and pitchside as well as this sort of thing from the Evening News.

Totally non momentous in any sort of business sense yet it gets the front page.

And some people think Vlad is interested in the football??

Why pick a team with debt??

Interest for bank.

Why pay people inordinate amounts of money and increase said debt?

Interest for bank.
